Coming back from Zürich after participating in the summer school Citizen Science 2026: Co-Creating Knowledge: Transforming Research Through Citizen Science, organized by the University of Zurich , UZH Citizen Science Zürich , UZH Graduate Campus and the Stiftung Mercator Schweiz . It was a great experience to work with an amazing group of researchers and practitioners from Europe, America and the Middle East, discussing the following questions: Research for whom? Whose knowledge counts? And how can we do research more even? Citizen Science encourages us to reconsider whose voices are included—or excluded—in research and how diverse experiences and perspectives contribute to the creation of knowledge. Knowledge is generated across multiple contexts, communities, and ways of knowing. This raises an important question: how can we meaningfully integrate different forms of knowledge to co-create research that is both scientifically robust and socially relevant? Citizen Science offers a powerful pathway for achieving this. For more information on the Citizen Science Zürich activities follow the link: https://lnkd.in/e8ePuEM5
